Studio Heinsius was founded in 2021 and is located in Klaukkala, Finland. It replaced Heinsius Clay & Tadelakt which was operating in the Netherlands since 2009. Martijn Heinsius is well known across the world as a Tadelakt specialist due to his career as a workshop instructor for Tierrafino and the high quality of his work. Materials he has frequently used besides Tadelakt are clay plasters, Marmorino, Travertino, Stucco Veneziano and other decorative finishes.

In the Netherlands, Martijn has worked with partners like UN Studio, Co van der Horst and Room for Fire for whom high end projects were always succesfully finished. Currently he is commissioned to finish collectible design pieces with Tadelakt for Tuomas Markunpoika (Fumi Gallery London) and Mokko Amsterdam.

Since 2021, Studio Heinsius is focusing on development of objects to enrich interiors, these will soon be made available.

Finding the limits of materials, developing new objects and how to build them is where Martijn's passion lies.
